Sacha: another update…

Today Sacha is very sleepy; we think that his wounds have probably infected so he will most likely end up at the vet. I have also heard about a product called “Betadine” which we could use to clean the wounds; it is an over-the-counter medicine and I hope that it is available in Canada!

I have started clicker-training Pollux yesterday afternoon, and plan on going on with the process later this morning. I first wanted to teach Kashmir, but like Sacha, he decided it was simpler to just wait until the next meal to get those treats. Pollux, like Kiwi, is really eager to learn – and eat… those cats are getting quite a tummy now!

We are still at the “touch” step and I can’t wait to get to the last steps; it will be so exciting to show his cleverness to my friends and family!

Sacha is still under quarantine until we know what’s going on with him. He mostly sleeps in his cage (he loves snoozing in there!) and sometimes begs to go outside. Otherwise he is eating fine though I don’t know if he is drinking much.

So this was my update for today!

Purrs,
Maia

  1. Best wishes for Sacha – hope there is no lasting damage or infection for him to cope with. Bet he can’t wait to get back to his own home!

  2. Betadine is available in Canada. I spent a year up there caring for horses & cats. My husband is Canadian – or should I say Can-American. We used Betadine on my kitty when he opened a HUGE wound on his neck. Healed right up. If you need help, let me know! babymk@hotmail.com I am on the Furever home animal adoption board on Yahoo
